Creating this blog has been something on my mind for a while. What has actually held me back in the past from beginning this journey is a mystery. Nonetheless, I persevere and move ahead (storing all my thoughts in my head and notes app was getting crowded). My name is Chidi, I am a Nigerian American hoping to share some perspectives and abuse my freedom of speech. Did that sentence put you on edge? Before you cancel me, read a few of my posts with an open mind.
Gain a new perspective on the raw emotions and thoughts produced by the overwhelming, arduous rules of society. Even typing about it exhausted me. Don’t double text. Act mysterious. Avoid being too eager. They are poisoning our foods. Brain rot emerges. New colloquial words make you question if you even are a gen Z. Friends, it is time to just be. What would happen if everyone broke the status quo? If we all just did everything to the best of our abilities, unapologetically?
I have been inspired by Carrie Bradshaw from ‘Sex and the City‘. The author of ‘what if this were enough‘, Heather Havrilesky, also motivated me. Their influence led me to finally open my laptop and start typing. The two women both concisely express my feelings on mundane days and during my most anxious moments. It sounds schizophrenic, but it makes PERFECT sense to me. After all, I think we all have some neurodivergent attributes in ourselves.
Much like this welcome blog, I am open, a mess, and like to spark conversation. I am all for hearing others perspectives on things and living without any regrets. Cats have nine lives to repeat or change their lifestyle. Why shouldn’t we live with an infinite amount of lives? After all, the lifespan of an average American is 78 years old. Meaning we have 28,488 days, 683,783 hours to rewrite our way of living. Why should you be ridiculed into changing your life one day and the next and the next? Okay enough yap, I hope you enjoy reading my future blog posts!
